Covenant Believers Community Church had a Women’s Conference in June 2019. Our theme was “S.A.L.T.” It was an acronym for “Saved, Anointed, Loved, Triumphant.”
The world can be cruel. We experience criticism and rejection too often. Sometimes it comes from people who we know and that hurts even more. My message at the conference was “Pass the S.A.L.T.” Instead of finding something wrong with another person, find something positive and encourage them. Remind them that they are saved, anointed, loved and triumphant. They are NOT stupid, fat or ugly.
And for you, the one who has received the criticism, please remember to encourage yourself. Look in the mirror and say, “I am saved, anointed, LOVED, and triumphant.” Regardless of what the world thinks of you, God loves you. He looks at you and sees His son (not your faults or flaws). And we know that God loves His one and only begotten son.
Sometimes people don’t like you because you have something that they wished they had (money, intelligence, good job, big house, nice car…). People can even dislike you because you have the joy of the Lord in your heart. What is the best way to deal with that? First remind yourself “I am saved, anointed, LOVED, and triumphant.” Secondly, the bible instructs us to pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:43-47).
When I first started walking with God, I struggled with that. “Why should I pray for them, they don’t mean me any good. And look at how they mean to me. I don’t want them to be blessed!” Sorry, I know that doesn’t sound very pastoral, but I’m just being honest here. But one day I realized that my kindness was killing them (big ole’ grin). And then I came across the scripture, Proverbs 25:21-22 and I understood why.
There are things that people have teased me about that will never change, big feet and big lips and no hips. Guess what? I still rock my stilettos and slather on the lipstick! “I am saved, anointed, LOVED, and triumphant.” I can change my weight (a constant battle) but regardless of how hard I pray; I will never have a coke-bottle shape. But there is no reason that I should hate another woman who does have one. I have learned to accept some things about myself. And know that I’m still awesome without it. “I am saved, anointed, LOVED, and triumphant.”
At the Women’s Conference, I had a Ziplock bag with some saltwater taffy in it and a card with a message. I wanted the women to “Pass the S.A.L.T.” Tell another woman to hold her head up because she belongs to the most high God! But, Men, this message is for you, too. I have altered the message below so that it is a good reminder for us all. Be blessed, Pastor Keia Holt.
Saved, Anointed, Loved, Triumphant
I want to encourage you today.
You are the salt of the earth. You add flavor wherever you go! Do not allow the enemy to steal your joy, you are too important in the kingdom of God.
Always remember that you are beautiful, Saved, Anointed, Loved, and Triumphant!
Now, “Pass the S.A.L.T.” and encourage another in Christ!
